What is a Wrinkle?
They are the lines occurring due to breakages secondary to collagen, elastic fibres and hyaluronic acid loss in the skin.
Why does a wrinkle occur?
The loss of collagen, elastic fibres and hyaluronic acid occurs secondary to the ageing of the skin. As these materials decrease, the tension of the skin decreases, and it starts to wrinkle. Also, more wrinkles develop due to the breaks in the skin regions such as the eyes, cheeks, forehead and the periphery of the lips, where there are constantly motions due to mimics. Wrinkles in the form of vertical lines occur mainly on the forehead, around the eyes, and cheek of the folding area developing in the skin due to sleep position.
What influences the degree of wrinkles?
More wrinkles occur in those who have dry and thin skin, who make a lot of mimics, who smoke, who stay under the sunlight, who consume less protein, vitamins and antioxidants, who feed with foods increasing glucose levels (sugar wrinkles), who have an irregular sleep pattern and due to air pollution.
