The BeautiFill™ treatment is a state-of-the-art method of removing excess fat and then transferring it to areas of the body that need augmentation or rejuvenation. BeautiFill gently harvests excess fat cells, which can then be used to restore or add volume to the face, hands, and buttocks.
Excess fat can be harvested from a number of trouble areas, including the flanks, thighs, tummy, and hips. This reduces those areas in volume and reshapes and sculpts them in order to create more attractive body contours.
BeautiFill vs. Injectable Fillers
Like BeautiFill, injectable dermal filler products are often used to smooth away facial wrinkles. Filler products are typically synthetic in nature. BeautiFill avoids this in favor of using body fat, which is a completely natural filler. This leads to a much lower risk of complications and more natural-looking results.
BeautiFill also offers much longer-lasting results than fillers. While fillers last for around six months to two years, BeautiFill’s results are usually permanent.
How Does BeautiFill Work?
BeautiFill is a laser-based liposuction and fat-transfer procedure. The laser energy loosens stubborn fat cells from the surrounding tissues, making harvesting faster and easier. Because the energy is gentle is comparison to traditional liposuction, the health of the donor fat is preserved.
Additionally, while the fat is being treated, the laser energy is encouraging the production of new collagen protein in the skin tissues. Over time, this results in healthier and tighter skin in the treatment area.
What Is the BeautiFill Procedure Like?
BeautiFill is a procedure performed under local anesthesia. This anesthesia is contained in a tumescent solution, which is injected at the start of the procedure. The solution also contains normal saline and epinephrine. These allow for easier fat removal and less post-surgical bruising and swelling.
The amount of time the BeautiFill procedure will take depends on several factors, including the size and locations of the areas to be filled and the amount of fat to be harvested.
After the solution has been injected into the treatment areas, a laser cannula is inserted into the areas. The excess fat is gently heated and suctioned out of the body through the cannula. As this is happening, the blood vessels are being cauterized by the heat, which lessens bleeding and post-surgical bruising.
The fat is then injected evenly into the face, hands, or buttocks to create new volume in those regions. This fat tends to have a very high survival rate (90 to 95%) in comparison to fat harvested via traditional liposuction (60 to 70%). The longer the fat survives, the longer the results will last.
After your BeautiFill procedure, you will need to return home to rest and heal. Downtime is minimal, and you will likely be able to resume your everyday activities within one or two days. You may notice slight temporary swelling and bruising in the augmented regions; these will fade in time.
